Times have changed as India celebrated its 74th Independence Day under strict COVID-19 pandemic guidelines. GSFC University celebrated Independence Day on 15th Aug 2020 in innovative online format. GSFC University has been known to keep well being of students and members well being on top priority and considering same, Independence Day was celebrated by virtual unfurling of national flag by President, Shri P.K. Taneja, IAS (Retd) on Google platform.
On this unique celebration event Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nikhil Zaveri welcomed all dignitaries and stakeholders and said, “ Let us not be enslaved by the current situation and celebrate without interruption. That is the true spirit of Freedom.” President of the University, Shri P.K. Taneja after hoisting the national flag addressed the virtual participants and said, “The efforts of all is commendable in celebrating Independence Day online in present situation. Let’s make every effort to hone our students to become, not just educated but become more confident young Indians who can take our nation forward.” Shri Taneja appreciated the efforts of teachers for online teaching and online exam initiatives. Shri Taneja also released 3rd Issue of Science Magazine of GSFC University. Meritorious students were awarded certificates online for their academic excellence and best Internship projects were rewarded.
Event for E-Banner creations was also held wherein participants displayed their ideas on the theme – “MY INDIA, NEW INDIA : POST COVID 19 ARENA”. usicall tribute by GSFC University students was delight for listeners which was followed by amusing ideas in Elocution Competition where students spoke on “POST COVID 19 INDIA: What is GLAD – MAD – SAD about it?” which was judged by experts like Prof. Hitesh Ravia, MS University; Ms Sonal Kotak, Wealth Management Expert and Ms Neha Wadhwani, HR Manager, GSFC Ltd.
GSFC University pioneered this new way of Independence Day celebration and event of this scale has been managed efficiently with more vigour than ever! More than 400 students, faculties, invited guests, administrative staff members participated in online celebrations and event was watched by others through live streaming.
GSFC University was established by Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd through GSFC Education Society under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, to continue the tradition of serving the community in multiple ways. GSFC University is having School of Technology, School of Science ad School of Management and in all 1200+ students are enrolled under these schools presently.
