Welcome to the School of Information and Communication Technology (SoICT), GSFC University.
Technology is transforming the way we live, work, communicate, and solve complex problems. At SoICT, we recognise that preparing students for this changing world requires more than academic knowledge. It requires strong technical foundations, critical thinking, practical skills, ethical responsibility, and the ability to learn, adapt, and innovate continuously.
Our vision is to establish SoICT as a nationally recognised and globally connected centre for future technologies, producing industry-ready graduates, high-impact research and technology-driven solutions for society. Guided by our strategic focus: Industry-Aligned, Technology-Driven and Future-Ready. We are committed to building an academic environment that connects classroom learning with real-world challenges and emerging technological opportunities.
The School offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity; B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), with specialisations in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and VLSI; and the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme. Together, these programmes provide a strong foundation for careers across computing, intelligent systems, digital security, electronics and advanced communication technologies.
Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen our capabilities across six priority domains: Cybersecurity and Digital Trust; Robotics and Autonomous Systems; Smart Cities, IoT and Edge Intelligence; VLSI, Semiconductor and Embedded Technologies; Quantum Computing and Quantum Security; and Advanced Communication Technologies. Through industry partnerships, internships, collaborative research, faculty development, Centres of Excellence and Living Labs, we will work towards creating meaningful opportunities for students and faculty to engage with real-world technological challenges.
We also believe that a university campus should be more than a place of learning; it should be a space where ideas are tested, technologies are developed, and solutions are created. Our ambition is to progressively transform the campus into a Living Technology Testbed, enabling students and researchers to experiment, collaborate, and translate knowledge into practical solutions. Our initiatives will be guided by the priorities of NEP 2020, the IndiaAI Mission and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Achieving this vision requires a collective commitment from our faculty, students, staff, alumni, industry partners and academic collaborators. We will continue to foster a culture of academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, research integrity and continuous improvement, while strengthening our connections with leading institutions and technology organisations in India and abroad.
As Dean, I look forward to working with the entire SoICT community to build a School where students are encouraged to think independently, faculty are empowered to pursue meaningful research, and technology is used responsibly to address the needs of society.
Together, let us shape the future of technology through knowledge, innovation, and purposeful action.
Warm regards,
Prof. (Dr.) Anjali Diwan
