Library Rules & Regulations

  • Library biometric registration is mandatory to enter the library.
  • Library Timing is 9.30 am to 11:00 pm on all working days.
  •  An ID card is mandatory for using the Library facilities.
  • Place your bags outside the library or in the property counter at your own risk.
  • The Librarian may recall any book at any time.
  • Books used for reference purposes must be kept on the circulation counter while leaving the library.
  • To ensure the availability of library materials to the users, students will have to pay overdue charges if they fail to return the library books on or before the due date. The overdue charges are Rs. 5/- per day per book.
  • If the library book is lost or damaged, students can replace the book either with the same edition or the latest edition; otherwise, the library will collect three times the cost of the lost book, besides Rs. 100/- as processing charges.
  • Putting any pencil/pen mark on a library resource is strictly prohibited and calls for a penalty, as suitably decided by the Librarian.
  • While using the library, the patrons will have to strictly follow the library rules and also maintain absolute silence in the library premises. Mobiles should be kept on silent mode in the library.
  • Making noise, watching movies/playing games on laptops or mobile phones, bringing edible items or doing anything else which may disturb other readers or which may be against the discipline of the library is strictly prohibited.
  • Strict action will be taken against the users who take the library books without proper issue or try to steal the books & other materials, defacing of books, including tearing of pages, disturbances in the library, use of social networking sites, etc

Rules and Regulations for Library Reading Room (On Holidays)  

  • The Library Users must come to the library with their ID card and show it to the Security.
  • The Library users must deposit their bags in the space provided (Property Counter) at the library entrance. All the users requested not to put the wallet, cash and any other costly items in the bags.
  • All the users are under CCTV Camera Surveillance.
  • Group Discussions are not allowed in the library and also in the reading room.
  • No food items are allowed in the library (Except water).
  • Users have to inform the security before leaving the Library.
  • Any infringement of the Library Rules or its property will render the privilege of admission and of borrowing books from the Library liable to cancellation.
